Environmental Data for the Coral Triangle
Collation, synthesis and provision of data and information on values,pressures and management boundaries to serve as a resource for technical and decision making individuals and authorities within Coral Triangle countries in considering the use of marine resources and conservation of marine values within and across potential seascapes,i,e, generally large marine areas encompassing a distinguishableecosystem “unit” that is often more than 1000 square kilometres in area and usually much larger.

Environmental Values Identified in the South Pacific
There have been a number of programs to identify envrionmetnal values in the South Pacific. These include Ecologically or Biologically Significant Areas, Key Biodiveristy and Managed Marine Areas
Interactions between sectors in Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (ABNJ): Deep Sea Mining (DSM), Fishing vessel activity, and Ecologically or Biologically Significant Areas (EBSA)
The identification of interactions between different sectors and the potential for cumulative impacts remains an unresolved issue in discussions about ABNJ. It has been perceived that the size of the ABNJ would limit the likelihood of potential interactions between different sectors. Following from this, it has been assumed that any interactions between human activity and the environment would be on a single sector basis.
New Britain, Papua New Guinea Values
The primary focus of this project is to design a framework for, and then populate and implement a comprehensive and effective Ecosystem Values Information System for application to marine and coastal management and decision making in PNG. The values framework will be designed to capture a full range of values for stakeholders at different spatial scales, and show connectivity to other dependent ecosystem features, for example the provision of ecosystem goods and services.
